Today Marks the 25th Anniversary of Insane Clown Posse's 4th Joker Card 'The Great Milenko'! [Mini Editorial]
Good evening Juggalos worldwide! Today is officially the 25th anniversary of Insane Clown Posse's platinum LP 'The Great Milenko'! Yes. On Tuesday, June 24th, 1997 Disney's Hollywood Records nationally released Insane Clown Posse's 4th Joker Card LP 'The Great Milenko'. The classic 1990's hip-hop record that permanently solidified Insane Clown Posse and the Juggalo Culture as an independent music force to be reckoned with for decades upon decades! 'The Great Milenko' debuted at number #63 inside the Billboard Top 200 with 100,000 copies instantaneously shipped and 14,000 units sold right out the gate. But then brief music tragedy struck, as Disney (who already paid 1 million dollars to sign the Clowns) unexpectedly decided to pull 'The Great Milenko' from every record store shelf in America on the day of the mighty influential LP's official release date. Things didn't look so great for the Clowns. But lucky enough for the Detroit underground legends, a bidding war ensued between Geffen Records, Interscope, and Island Records to sign the Insane Clown Posse to properly unleash 'The Great Milenko' for the whole world to hear. Island Records ended up victorious in the end and re-released the LP on Tuesday, August 12, 1997, completely uncensored!
