Madchild continues to gain momentum as a solo artist with his relentless work ethic and powerful sharp-edged rhymes. This week, his new album "Switched On" cracked into the Top 10 on the overall Canadian Billboard Top 200 and debuted at #1 on the Rap Chart. Madchild will hardly have a second to enjoy the fruits of his labor as he's currently performing to packed venues across the United States on tour, and will follow that up with a series of one-off Halloween shows with Necro in California and Immortal Technique in Colorado. Madchild’s brand new video for “Tom Cruise” can be seen below. "It always a incredible feeling to know that you art is resonating with fans, but to see your album as the #1 Rap album in the country, and up there in the Billboard Top 10 is truly amazing," says Madchild. "I cannot thank all the fans and Battleaxe Warriors enough for their support of my new album 'Switched On'. Real hip-hop music will always be relevant regardless of trends or fads, and the chart positions are a testament to that." Madchild has refused to rest since becoming a solo artist. After many years of success with Swollen Members, Madchild branched out creatively to become a solo artist with the release of his debut album "Dope Sick" and sophomore effort “Lawn Mower Man”. Madchild wasted no time taking to the road on a sold-out Canadian tour alongside Tech N9ne, which he immediately followed-up with a 40-date headlining tour across the country performing to packed venues. He's relentlessly toured for the past few years earning fans in every city on tours with La Coka Nostra, Tech N9NE, Redman, and others. Madchild capped off an amazing year with a Juno Award nomination for "Dope Sick" in the category of "Rap Recording of the Year", as well as nominations for a Sirius XFM Indie Award and a Canadian Independent Music Award. With a new album and tour dates through the end of the year, 2014 is poised to be Madchild's most successful year yet.
