Battle Axe Records is proud to announce the signing of Los Angeles based emcee Demrick to the label's roster for the release of his upcoming new album "Losing Focus" in early 2015. A video of Demrick being welcomed into the Battle Axe family can be viewed online at http://youtu.be/dz7liHfLBKI. Demrick will also join Madchild on the road for his “Switched On” Canadian headlining tour, which kicks off in Vancouver, British Columbia on January 9th, 2015. "Madchild is a dope emcee, he's very respected, and has been a staple in this game for years. I'm honored to be one of the label's first signing and to be a part of Battle Axe Records," said Demrick. "Madchild and the team at Battle Axe understand my vision and where I'm going as an artist. They care about artist development and they are building a movement of like-minded hip-hop heads across the globe.” "We're excited to have Demrick join the family and join forces with Battle Axe for the release of his new album. We've been following Demrick's career for quite some time, and he's putting out quality music that pays respect to the culture of hip-hop. We're proud to put out his new album 'Losing Focus' and to help him build the next phase of his career," commented Madchild about the signing. "We have a very clear vision for what we want Battle Axe Records to be. We want fans to see the Battle Axe logo on an album and know that it represents a quality hip-hop album full of fierce lyricism and Demrick is exactly the type of artist. We want to be a brand that the fans can trust to deliver the goods and Demrick's album does that and more." Los Angeles bases emcee Demrick, formerly known as Young De, rose through the ranks of the hip-hop scene when his mixtapes "Audio Hustlaz Vol. 1" and "Homeland Security" ignited the internet. Since then, Demrick has continuously raised the bar as a lyricist collaborating with high profile artists such as Xzibit, Kurupt, Snoop Dogg, B-Real, Royce Da 5’9, Crooked I, Freeway, Too $hort, and Cypress Hill. In 2013, Demrick was invited by B-Real and Xzibit to join them in the formation of a new super-group dubbed the Serial Killers, and they released their now classic "Serial Killers Vol. 1" album on Halloween. Demrick will release his new album "Losing Focus" in early 2015, and the effort is slated to feature guest appearances by Dizzy Wright, Logic, as well as his Serial Killers alumni B-Real and Xzibit. Battle Axe Records is a label run by artists who understand the need for artist development in a time when the music industry is in a tailspin. Founded by Madchild from Juno Award winning hip-hop group Swollen Members, Battle Axe Records has a long history of helping launch the careers of hip-hop groups including Sweatshop Union, Abstract Rude, and Moka Only. The label has a fanatical fan base who stay connected through the website (www.BattleAxeWarriors.net), and many of them proudly sport tattoos of the label’s iconic skull logo. The community has grown to over 5,000 devout members, who use the website as a portal to connect with one another over their shared love of music.
